The yank’n’kick. Seriously, who brings a shotgun to a robbery?
That’s my girl. And dumbasses that have a deathwish.
Can’t believe they came back.
Cops took the footage as evidence. Same guys. You’d be proud, though. Stole your move.Fuck.. Which move? I have a few.

Ben laughs and sits down next to her. “You’re a baker in New York. Getting shot really isn’t that far fetched.”
He kisses her lightly on the temple, putting his arm around her waist, careful to stay lower than the wound.
“But it doesn’t matter, because we’re going back to Kansas. No one ever gets shot in Kansas.”
She sniffles and leans her head on his shoulder. ”Your pa gets shot all the time in Kansas,” she counters.
“I wish I’d shot them. I wish I’d just shot them both.”
Val sighs. ”Can we go to bed? Please? I just want it to be tomorrow.”

Hurts but it’s not bad. Got me along the ribs, could have been worse. Didn’t kill anyone, security tapes.Good, good. That means I’ll know what the bastards look like.

Ben grabs the paramedic’s hand and pulls it away from Val, “Dude, she said stop poking her.”
The paramedics grumbles about doing his job and gets into the back of the ambulance. Ben follows, turning back to help Val up and into the little bed thing they have back there.
Val manages to hold everything together through her examination, more chats with the police, and getting patched up. She doesn’t start to shake until she gets into Ben’s apartment and gingerly sits down on his couch.
She runs her fingers through her hair and sniffles then laughs, a touch hysterical. ”I got shot. I’m a freaking baker and I got shot.”

Ben had been at one of the headquarters when Val got a hold of him, and he took one of Bruce’s cars so he could get to the shop faster. Bruce could yell at him later.
When he arrives at the shops, the cops are everywhere and Lily and Val are standing with some paramedics. Ben pushes past the guy watching the borders and makes his way over to them, ignoring the paramedic almost completely and turning to Val.
“Are you alright?”
Lily nods and presses a kiss to Val’s forehead as Ben finally gets there, and she rolls her eyes at him. “She just got fucking shot, of course she’s not okay. Dipshit.” Lily rolls her eyes again and goes into the shop like Val asked, leaning against the doorframe.
“Miss, you’re not supposed to be in here, this is a crime sc-” Lily scowls at the cop talking to her. “I fucking work here, asshole, I can be in here if I want to and you can just shut your fucking mouth about it.” She grins and it’s not sweet, so the cop just goes back to what he was doing.
Of course, there’s questions when they get to the freezer, but Lily convinces them the markings are art left by Ender. It’s really not even that difficult to do, either and Lil smirks to herself because the thought crosses her mind that she could be Lady Loki.
Val sighs and watches Lily go. The paramedic pokes her in the side again and she turns to snarl at him. “What did I say? Fuck off! Ow.”
She looks back at Ben, then at the shop with the police tape on the door, then back at Ben again. ”I’m really not okay, Ben. I almost shot someone tonight. I am fucking bleeding and my shop is swarming with cops.”
“Will you ride along with me? Apparently I have to go to the hospital. I just don’t wanna go by myself and I can can go now that Lily’s here…”
Lily’s already panicking when she gets the second text, but now she’s just flat out scared. Val’s shop isn’t in the greatest part of town, so there’s a million things that could have happened.
Luckily, all the cops in the area are occupied at the shop, so Lily can speed all the way there. It’s late enough to where there’s room to bob and weave through traffic, and she gets there in a record five minutes. All the blue, red, and white lights make her stomach drop, and she nearly plows through three cops to try to get to Val after getting out of her car.
Finally, they let Lily through and she rushes to where Val is, frustrated and worried tears staining her cheeks. “What the fuck happened, babe? Are you okay?”
Val’s sitting in the back of the ambulance, fighting the urge to elbow the paramedic as he insists that she needs to go to the hospital. ”I know that, moron. I’m the one with the blood pouring out of my fucking side. Jesus fucking Christ, dude, I don’t have a goddamn concussion, stop touching me…”
When Lily shows up, panicked, Val is actually relieved. ”Two assholes broke into my fucking shop and I got shot,” she huffs. ”Well, grazed, but it hurts and this asshole won’t stop poking it,” she points to the paramedic, who rolls his eyes.
“Thanks for coming, Lils.” Val sighs. “It’s really not that bad. It’s not even a through and through, barely a scratch. I just… I needed someone I could trust to keep an eye on the 5-0 while they snoop around the shop. I told them nothing got taken and that they could have the damn security tapes… but…”
She sighs. ”They might not understand the shit carved into the doors and painted in the freezer…”
“Hello, sweetheart.”
